Softball... A Way Of Life

Softball is the way of life. Cheering, running, laughing. Frustration, tears, and injuries. It never ends. Traveling from state to state, no matter what the cost. Diving catches, home runs, and bad calls.

Tan lines and bloody knees. Hot dogs, sunburn and sunglasses. Sunflower seeds, and card games. Why spend the day at the beach when you can spend your summer with new friends on the diamond in 95 degree weather.

Getting dirty is part of the job. Why do we do this? Because we're softball players. There's no quitting, no crying, and no mercy.

So step up to the plate and dig in...the game of life is about to begin.

Hard Work... Pays Off

In May of 2008, the Chaos have been working hard. We recently went to a two day tournament. On Saturday we played hard but only ended up with a record on 1-1-1 with scores of 15-3, 5-5 and 5-6.

Saturday night, we were informed that we were playing in a different area which meant another 1/2 hour of driving the next morning. My dad and I were up at 4:00 and met the sleepy team for an early morning game that was close, but we fought hard to win with a score of 5-4 in the 6th inning..... Then there was another game(3-1), and then one more (4-2).... and we were at the championship game without realizing it....

The team to beat was a team we had merely tied the day before. We played hard for the full 7 innings, and all our coaches would tell us was that the game was tied and we had to play our hearts out.

We continued to play with passion and expressionless happiness. We were given our awards and signed the plaque at the end of the game and realized that our score was much better than the 5-5 from Saturday. Chaos won the tournament at 13-4. Congrats Chaos... Continue to play hard!
