I put together a few basic softball tips
and
drills that might be helpful for some players and managers. There's no
BIG secrets going on here. Sometimes we just need to get back to the
basics! Getting back to the basics, could help your game.
Remember this before you go. Doing things
right on the ball field, can make you and your team look good, playing
the game of softball.
Remember The Basics
All Fielders - Know
how many outs there are
- Know where to throw the ball
- Know where the base runners are
- Remember to back up plays
- Easy isn't it?

Batters - Always run the ball out
- Never swing at a 3-0 count
- Never throw your bat
- Don't argue over a strike call
- Get the runner in from 3rd

Infielders - Keep
your eye on the ball
- Keep your butt down
- Look the ball into the glove
- Know where the runners are
- Have the ball before you throw

Infielders - Get
your body in front of the ball
- Never take your eye off the ball
- Do not turn your head
- Catch the ball before you throw it
- Run base runners back to the base

Outfielders - Know
how many outs there are
- Know how many are on base
- Know where to throw the ball
- Know who's playing beside you
- Know who your cutoff man is
- Get a good jump on the ball

Outfielders - Call
for the ball
- Back up your teammates
- Hit your cutoff man
- Know where to throw
- Don't hold the ball
- Know when to run the ball in
