Players Recognition & Accomplishments. This section is dedicated to some of the Sluggers players that stood out from the rest. By not only sticking by me all those years, but playing the game the way it's supposed to be played.

Sluggers '10 Year Vets'

    Special Recognition to the following players....
  • Bill Cline - 19 years of service! Plus 16 years of sponsor fees! Played outfield, 1st base, catcher and EH
  • Gerry Steppler - 14 years of service! Played rightfield, leftfield and pitched when needed. Team score keeper. 1st base coach
  • Glen Hearrell #22 - 11 years of service! Played all outfield postions and played 1st base. Voted All-Time Team Favorite
  • Bob Bulleri - 11 years of service! Played outfield, 1st base, 3rd base and pitched. The team MVP more than once

    JP gave 9 years of service
  • The Ultimate TEAM player.
  • JP would sit out just to let a teammate play.
  • Would play any where on the field when needed and swing at anything close.
  • Took a few beatings behind the plate.

    Craig Nelson gave 8 years of service
  • Was a starter at four infield and all four outfield positions during his playing days
  • All in different seasons of course!
  • Craig also played all 10 positions in one game!

    Larry Klemenson gave 7 years of service.
  • The 'Old hippy' had a mean knuckle ball that had batters swinging and missing!
  • Struck out the side and even tossed a no hitter in slow-pitch softball.
  • Played on Championship team in 1982.

    Tim Wilson gave 6 years of service.
  • Had a gold glove in leftfield.
  • Pure hitter. Plus a 'Sweet' swing in the box that any player would want.
  • Some called him the 'King of Deeks'. Others called him, 'Pin Head'

    Tom Slagill gave 6 years of service and played in 4 different decades
  • Tom played on the first Sluggers team in 1978 in the Novato league
  • Played on the first team in the Hamilton league in 1981
  • Played in 1991 on the Sluggers first team back in the Novato league
  • Played on the first team in the Over 40 league in the 2000 season in Petaluma
  • Tom played outfield and retired in 2001
